WirNachbarn is the social network for neighbourhoods. Fewer people than in the past know their neighbours. However, research shows a clear demand and desire to have contact to neighbours, look after each other and live in an environment of mutual support. WirNachbarn can be used for recommendations (plumber?, baby sitter?), organizing neighbourhood activities (garage sale, street feast), sharing items (drilling machine?, Commute?), selling/seeking (kitchen table?), publishing (local football club events, gardening club board), neighbourhood watch (seen who scratched my car? ) etc. WirNachbarn is free of charge for its users. Each user is either allocated to an existing neighbourhood around his home, or if no neighbourhood exists at his home he can draw a new neighbourhood around his location. Address data of users are validated to ensure that only people who actually live at a specific address are able to join. WirNachbarn is the platform which brings neighbours together.
