We are investing up to 20,000 Euros into startups that are helping prevent, cure, and live with eye-disease and blindness, and offering a 3 month accelerator program and fantastic networking opportunities to the leading names in this market. The program will run in early 2015, at Rainmaking Loft in Berlin, which is the heart of Berlin's startup scene. It is the world's first accelerator for eye-care startups, and has a strong social undertone - we want to create successful businesses that also change lives. There are 280m people with visual impairment and eye disease, and 90% are in poor countries. 80% is curable, and I want to focus the disruptive innovation of startups onto this problem.
