About

Everyday people walk in and out of our lives that speak languages we're interested in learning, yet there's no way to know who these people are. "Language community" has become an abstract term that deals more often with virtual communities than in-person interactions. We want to change that. Chatterplot takes the concept of "language community" offline and puts it back on the ground. Our integrative map allows users to see all the in-person language practice opportunities in their area and filter based on language, user (tandems, teachers) and event type. By doing this, we solve peripheral problems: - Language teachers no longer need to post on bulletin boards and craigslist. They can connect directly with their community. - Endangered languages have a chance to find an audience or people who may be interested in learning more. - Effective 'interactive integration' plan- which governments around the world have failed to provide. Fortunately, it's a piece of cake to use!
